Help with my ATT Fiber Ethernet Port

My ATT fiber only has one ethernet cable, if i want to connect a Switch do i just plug the orange cable into a switch while having another ethernet cable plugged in the front?

photos since i’m bad at explaining.

is that white square box another ethernet port that i need to open to have it installed.

You connect a switch or other devices to the YELLOW ports on the back of the gateway.... not to the ONT pictured.

Possible fiber model gateways include the 599, 5269, 210-700 and 320-505. You should have one of these units at the other end of the data cable (white cable with red ends) unless going into a wall plate, then look in the various rooms for a black box with lights and yellow ports on the back.
