texting issues

I have tried to use internet information to send text  messages to other than a 10 digit phone number. for example it might say "text HELP to 123456" but the error message says invalid must use 10 digit number. What is the resolution?

Hello @trainspotters,

We'd like to look into why you're unable to send certain messages.

With more, details, we'll be able to assist you to the best of our ability:

  • What do you mean when you say internet information?
  • What company are you trying to message?
  • Also, are you sure you opt in to send to that company?

Please let us know.

By internet information I mean exactly that. It’s directions from a company that requests a certain message to be texted to a particular number. How hard is that to understand?
I have tried multiple times to different numbers and have the same response from ATT. It will only accept 10 digits as valid for transmission. It has nothing to do with the destination as the request for a text message will not be completed from my phone.
When the instructions say "Text HELP to 12345" it will not acknowledge the number as valid, according to ATT it needs to be a 10 digit number, BUT IT IS NOT.

No need to be rude. Maybe that "123456" number is missing a few digits. Can you Reply to the text without using the numbers given?

Here we go again, why aren't you reading what the issue really is? It has nothing to do with replying to a text message, I'm not having any problems texting to anyone with a valid email or 10-digit phone number.

As you see in the screen shot (I do not want to do this particular message, it is only and example to show you what I'm dealing with). It is not possible to send a text message from my phone (iPhone 7) to the number 30330, as it immediately responds with "not valid 10-digit number" error message from ATT.
