iPhone replaced in Apple Store

I have an iPhone replaced in Apple Store so it got a different IMEI number.

Would AT&T recognize that IMEI number?  If I submit an unlock request, would AT&T say "it's not in database"?

Thanks!

If the phone you took to Apple was unlocked, then they should have provided you with an unlocked phone to replace it.  AT&T can process an unlock, for you, but if the phone is new enough, and it has not been used on the AT&T network, you will probably have to work with them to get the phone into their system, then you can work though the unlock process.  The easiest way to get the phone into the AT&T system is to use it on your account, but then that will have another side effect.  Once you use it on your account, you have a waiting period before you can request an unlock.
