AT&T iPhone 8:If it has to be unlocked, how can I unlock it without an active phone #?

I don't want to compromise my daughter's AT&T phone that uses the same # as the iPhone 8 used to use.
The iPhone 8 was recovered and upgraded to iOS 14.0.1. I plan to use it on an AT&T prepaid plan or a GSM network on Tracfone.

Unlock as a non-customer. All that’s needed in that case is the IMEI number of the phone. However, if it’s locked to AT&T, there is no reason you can’t already use a prepaid AT&T SIM. Just install it.
