I’m sorry to hear your phone is not operating properly. It’s strange that the microphone works on some apps and not on others. This leads me to believe it might be a problem with the software, and not the hardware of the device.
In these cases, the first thing to try is restoring the device back to factory settings. Before erasing the phone though, you will want to backup the information. Our Device Support page has great instructions on how to accomplish this. Please choose make and model of your device, then click on Tutorials > Backup & restore > Backup and restore with computer.
The steps to reset the phone to factory defaults can be found on the same page, by visiting Troubleshooting > Reset device instead.
Once you have performed this troubleshooting steps, if the problem persists then it may be a problem of the microphone itself. In situations such as this within the first year, the warranty can help, but only as long as the device has no physical or liquid damage. If the phone is damaged then the Insurance then insurance is a great option to replace it, if you had previously added it to the line.
I hope my answer helps you resolved the problem, please feel free to contact us again if you have any more questions!
