lost phone advice android/samsung
Hi. Someone stole my phone and I found it in another city via AT&T. Should I secure the device? Or lock it? Don't think I'll be able to retrieve the actually phone. Will my info be transferred to a new one if I have to get one? Should I make a police report?

Yes to all that
You can use find my device to lock and locate the device. Submitting the police report may allow you to recover the phone. If necessary you may need to wipe the phone to prevent someone else from accessing your data. You will of course need to replace the phone, as soon as possible phone service needs to be suspended so someone can't run up calls to some other country and rack up $1000 in Long distance calls.
Once you replace the phone, you need to have a new SIM card made for your replacement phone with your old number

Hey there! This is certainly an alarming situation, so let's get to getting the information you need.
First thing we recommend you to do is to file a police report. It may even be required when filing a claim.
Next, please disable your device and lock it using your device's tracking application.
Once that is done, if there was an active insurance on your device, please look into filing a claim and getting a replacement device if this was your primary device.
Hope this information helps, and we hope things turn out well. Do let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Yes, immediately secure and lock your device remotely to protect your data. Contact AT&T for assistance with this process. Your information can typically be transferred to a new phone if you've backed it up. Making a police report is advisable for documentation and in case of any identity theft or misuse of your information. Consider also changing passwords for your accounts as a precaution. 😊😊😊

If you've lost your Android/Samsung phone, here's a step-by-step guide to try to find it:
Stay Calm: It’s important to keep calm to remember details that could help locate your phone.
Retrace Your Steps: Think about the last place you remember having your phone.
Use “Find My Device”: Go to a computer or use another smartphone and visit the Find My Mobile website for Samsung phones or the Find My Device for Androids. Log in with the same Google account or Samsung account that is linked to your lost phone.
Location: If the service is on, you can see your phone’s location on the map. If it’s nearby, you can play a sound to find it even if it's on silent.
Lock Your Phone: You can lock your phone remotely which will display a message with a contact number on the lock screen, so if someone finds it, they can call you.
Call Your Phone: Sometimes calling your phone can alert a nearby person to its location. 😊😊😊
