Conditional Call forwarding

Hello All,

I used to use conditional call forwarding on att. Basically I had my voicemail handled externally, by putting in an MMI code **004*XXXXXXXXXX# and forwarding to google voice. I noticed it is now no longer possible. both the MMI codes nor the forwarding section in the phone app calls > call forwarding > when busy, when unanswered, and when unreachable are all locked to ATT voicemail.

Regular all call forwarding seems to still be active.

Is this true that this feature is no longer offered ?

I am currently using a Pixel XL non att phone.

Good morning @ gwhofer.

We recommend using our certified devices as it will be compatible with our network.  You may bring your own devices to operate on our network, but we cannot guarantee compatibility with all our services.

I hope this information helps you out.

Hello and good afternoon @gwhofer.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community Forums.  Managing your calls, including using the call forwarding feature, is certainly important. I will be glad to help you out!

Call forwarding is managed by the device.  To enable:

  • Open Phone ;
  • Tap Menu > Settings ;
  • Access Call forwarding ;
  • Choose the condition when to forward incoming calls When unanswered, When unreachable or When busy ;
  • Edit or enter the phone number you want to forward calls to ;
  • Tap Update / Enable

If you have further questions about your Pixel XL phone, please contact Google support.  Let us know if this helped you out.

I wish you the best, and have a great day!

This was the proceedure I used and it worked on Ting/T-Mobile, but, when I attempted to do it on AT&T it failed immediately saying a read or connection error. Even though I was showing 4 bars signal strength. I am using a Samsung A50. It looks like my A50 can't read the status of Call forwarding status conditions on the AT&T network.

Good morning @ gwhofer.

I am sorry about the errors you are receiving on the phone, while trying to update the settings.  I highly recommend contacting the manufacture of the phone, Google, for further assistance.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

How would not being able to change carrier settings be a phone issue ? I
can still change the always forward option ? It's not a phone issue.

Have you tried the ##002# code? It should reset all call forwarding to default. If that works I expect you'll be able to set the conditionals again.

Sorry you had to leave, but if that's what it took to solve your problem, then I'm glad it's solved.  I have a Pixel XL and a Pixel 2 XL.  They're excellent phones.

There's two codes to use. Forward if busy: *67*1205123456789*11# and Forward if no answer: *61*1205123456789*11#. Just enter these one at a time and press the call icon. To cancel, ##67*11# and ##61*11#.
