At&t prepaid and premium phones

so I got an AT&T premium phone

Because I wanted to upgrade from galaxy J7 to a A10.

No big deal.

But when I put my prepaid sim into the phone it doesn't register.

Why?

Did you receive and error message after inserting the SIM card into a new device? If so, what did the error message say?
Did the SIM card function properly after re-inserting it back into the old phone?
What do you mean the SIM card doesn't resister with the A10?
