Roaming network changed Feb27 and no longer able to call in or out
I have an iPhone and prepaid plan with unlimited talk and text USA, Canada and Mexico
I’m currently in Canada and normally the phone roams on the Rogers network
Feb 27th texting worked then mid morning it changed from Rogers to Bell and couldn’t do anything. Support reset my SIM and I can text and use data but no calling in or out. It’s showing Bell LTE until I call and then it changes to Bell 3G
Tried resetting network a number of times. Getting the same issue when I put the SIM card in an LG phone.
Any help appreciated

We'll be happy to guide you in the right direction @LNinfo.
You can also try turning on Airplane Mode then turning it off, to try to force your phone to connect to the nearest towers.
If that doesn't work, you'll need to reach out to the international department at +1.314.925.6925 (free from device) or chat https://www.att.com/contactus/index/wireless.html?tab=1 .
Thank you for reaching out to our AT&T Community.

Do you have an older iPhone? 5S, 5c, or older?
If you do, it had to be replaced.
You also need to have a SIM card capable of HD voice.

Hi
Thanks I really appreciate the links and contact info
I’ll give them a try
My phone is an 11 so think it’s ok. Really odd to me that when I text it’s Bell LTE but when I phone it’s Bell 3G
I’ll for sure check about the SIM card
thanks again, fingers crossed

This all has to do with the 3-g shutdown. AT&T shut off its 3-g Network on February 22nd. I know that some of the carriers in Canada are also shutting down 3-g. For some reason your phone is not capable or not defaulting to voice over LTE, but is instead searching for a 3-g network for voice calls.

Unfortunately I checked the SIM card and it does have 27 9th and 10th digit so looks like it’s compatible
Do you figure it could still be a SIM card issue causing it to search for a 3G network ?

Hi, LNinfo! Allow us to help get your phone ringing again by directing you to the appropriate support.
We appreciate our ACE for their support! As our ACE mentioned, these network changes are due to the 3G sunset. Your iPhone 11 is still compatible with AT&T's upgraded network. We're not certain what is causing service interference with your voice feature. You may want to replace your SIM. We can provide some additional personalized troubleshooting but we'll need to access your account in order to do so. Given you are currently in Canada, you'll want to reach out to our International Customer Service at 1.408.962.1025. We hope this information helps!
