unless they changed their rules,

  • $10–$24: Expires in 30 days
  • $25–$99: Expires in 90 days
  • $100 or more: Expires in one year

They used to have that information posted on their site. The details no longer are listed. If it's not posted - they may have changed their "rules". They seem to do that ALOT! I used to be able to transfer balances between accounts; they no longer allow that.

One thing about AT&T is absolutely everything is published on their website somewhere. Everything...

I used to be able to transfer balances between accounts; they no longer allow that.

They have not allowed transfers between accounts for at least 10 years. It was not allowed in 2014, and has not been allowed since.  AT&T's terms of service on AT&T prepaid has not changed substantially in 10 years.

The maximum balance has been raised several times.

The permission to use AT&T prepaid in Canada, Mexico, and now roaming plans and other places in the world is a substantial change

AT&T pay-per-use plans are no longer available for new customers/new sign ups. Those who have it, can keep it. But AT&T would like to get rid of it so if you lapse your payments, your account will be closed and your number lost

I'm very confused by your comment!

  • Are you saying that you no longer offer the $0.35/minute plan? Is it grandfathered for existing subscribers? It was quite a jump from $0.10/minute.
  • Are you saying that you no longer offer the $25/90 day, or $100/365 day recharge options? Is a monthly recharge the only remaining option?
  • Are you saying that you no longer allow balance transfers between accounts?

Thank you for the link: I could not find that information anywhere. Never thought to look under the legal tab (that's a great hiding spot).  I remember transferring money between accounts not that long ago.

Hi Jessica,

The reason I came to the forums is because I had a poor experience with Maria in your contact center. Chat didn't work, so I left my number for a call back. I've never had much luck with your support.

I've spent hours with the support group. Visual voicemail is supposed to be offered with my two plans, but it is only accessible if I used a data plan add-on. I have almost $500 in one of my prepaid plans; and have to keep adding funds every month to keep my account alive - that's kinda crazy!

  • Are you saying that you no longer offer the $0.35/minute plan? Is it grandfathered for existing subscribers? It was quite a jump from $0.10/minute.

Both the 'per minute' and 'per day' plans were discontinued in January of 2022.  They are not available to new customers/new sign ups and have not been available in over 2 years. Customers that have it can keep it. If you miss a payment you will lose it.

  • Are you saying that you no longer offer the $25/90 day, or $100/365 day recharge options? Is a monthly recharge the only remaining option?

No I am not saying that.

Those are refill amounts. Those are not plans. Those were never plans.  Refills in those amounts extend the balance expiration by that number of days.

You can refill any amount as long as it is the minimum which I believe is $10. That has nothing to do with the plan, only the expiration date of the refill.

  • Are you saying that you no longer allow balance transfers between accounts?

Balance transfer between accounts has been against the prepaid terms of service for at least 10 years.  I started with AT&T in February of 2014. At that time, prepaid transfer of balance was not permitted. That has not changed.
