Reactivating my prepaid number

I had a PREPAID that I used in the US when visiting on business. It was on auto pay, which I ended towards end of 2020 as COVID meant I couldn't visit. I want to reinstate it now. It's hard to do it from the UK. Cust service sent me a link but when I enter the SIM number it says it's not recognised. Cust service confirmed that the number hasn't been recycled. Is there a simple way to do this?

A prepaid account is automatically closed if the account balance is $0 for more than 60 days. If you stopped autopay in 2020, your account is closed, the number lost and the SIM card deactivated. You can not reactivate a deactivated SIM card. You’ll need to open a new account with a new SIM card and new number.
