How to stop robo text messages charged to my prepaid account

Hi. Several weeks ago, I started receiving robo text messages on my cell phone. Unlike previous unwanted texts, which were simply annoying (and a little worrisome), but otherwise free, these recent texts cost me 20¢ each. I just refilled my account balance, haven't yet used my phone, and I've already lost calling time. Any solutions? How about a refund?

I appreciate any help that can be provided here. Thanks.

Thanks for your suggestion. Sorry for my delayed response. Unfortunately, I'm on your 10¢-a-minute plan, so your 800 number isn't free for me, and your 611 line is apparently no longer staffed. Even so, I'm guessing that the only way I can avoid robo text messages is to completely eliminate all of my phone's text message ability (in/out). Anyhow, that's what I'll try next. I really can't afford to finance these attempted scams. Besides, I might fall for one!
