We can definitely help you report email to text, @christiegirl4.

We've had a lot of great responses in this thread, but wanted to jump in and let you all know that we are working daily to combat the SPAM epidemic. Here's what to do:

SMiShing is phishing that uses texting to lead you to fake websites that imitate real companies. Fraudsters use this and other scams to get personal info.

We have a great website that allows you to report both spam text from a wireless number, or from an email address.  Check out our Unwanted Calls and Texts page for more information.

We would appreciate if you would report the incident by ether forwarding suspicious text messages to 7726 (SPAM), or by email to abuse@att.net.

We've included lots of reference material above for you to review. Please let us know if we can provide additional support. Thank you!

It's certainly important to stop annoying texts that you receive from those email addresses, thewheel1975. Here's what you can do to defend against them.

First, you will want to forward those unwanted text messages (even suspicious calls) to 7726 or even complete this form. Once those messages are forwarded to 7726 you will receive a reply asking for the originating number or email address.

When you reply with those messages we can take the appropriate steps to block those texts. Make sure to view Text Fraud Reporting at Reporting Fraud and Alerting Credit Bureaus which is a blog provided by AT&T Cyber Aware.

There, you will find additional steps you can take against those harassing messages that you receive. In fact, you'll find similar details under the section Defend yourself against texting scams when you stop by SMiShing and other texting scams.

Be sure to check out the details under Common text scams where you'll find about some of the latest scams that fraudsters are running. Some may even sound familiar.

We hope this information helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance with AT&T products and services.

Thank you for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums.

1) 7726 does not accept email addresses, just phone numbers. This answer is inaccurate.

2)This answer does not ever address how to prevent email addresses from sending texts,

3) nor does it address how to block email addresses that do send texts.

Verizon allows blocking email sourced texts, AT&T apparently does not.

This answer is a boiler plate fail.

I have same issues. I agree with the epic fail 100%! There were no solutions provided with the response. I’m still waiting to see if a better answer is coming…

Direct Message closed. Just Put the answer HERE!

Could AT&T be any more frustrating? I don't see how.

AT&T you have to do a better job here.  Abuse email & 7726 are a complete waste of time as I have been doing this for months with no action from you.  Give us a solution, give us the power to block them ourselves otherwise I'm gone.  This is ridiculous.

AT&T has been vague on this for YEARS!!!  This is not new to them; it has merely become such an epidemic that people are finally fed up with ATT’s inaction and are leaving ATT for Verizon, Mint, etc..  I personally own many ATT accounts (wireless, home & biz internet, tv, and home phone) and I am in the process of dumping them all right now because of being sick of the inaction and lies from ATT about fixing or allowing its customers to remove stupid "feature".  Get a grip, ATT!  This is ridiculous and is a simple fix.
