Coverage in Vietnam
Been a customer for 25 years. I travel to Vietnam every year. I am quite displeased that ATT does not currently have a coverage plan in Vietnam. I know they did at one time but seems the agreement with the Vietnam has lapsed and was not renewed. I checked the ATT site after I was told by an ATT agent that Vietnam was covered under the international package. Once I saw on the site there is no coverage, called and reconfirmed with ATT that there is no coverage.
This really is unacceptable for an supposed international provider like ATT. ATT is my second highest expense per month and as I said I have been client for a quarter century. I am going to start rethinking this. Thanks for listening.

Hi @reer01
Thank you for your continued support throughout the years, we look forward to many more years of providing you excellent service and of making you happy along the way!
I’m sorry to hear you’re having coverage issues in Vietnam. We are working hard to be able to provide you service all over the world and are currently in 190+ countries. The reason we are able to provide you service in these areas is because we have agreements with telecommunications companies in these countries that allow us to use their network. Sometimes these agreements lapse as you say or they expire and we are unable to re-establish them.
An alternative you have is if your device is eligible for a device unlock, you can submit a request through our Device Unlock webpage. This will allow you to unlock your device to use with any international carrier that uses the frequency of your device. Additional information about device unlocking can be found on our website.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

Att is a national provider, and has domestic coverage in all US states.
Coverage in other countries is provided by other cell carriers.
It is always cheaper to use an unlocked Phone and a local SIM card than to use the international passport plans.
