blocking numbers with a prepaid plan
when trying to block numbers it takes me to a screen to use att protect, then att is tells me I can't block numbers with call protect feature as I have a prepaid plan. I'm receiving numerous calls (4 or 5 an hour) all day long and need to use something to block these callers ... most of the time they call with same number with only one digit being different ... I'm also getting loads of calls from 9 digit numbers ... yes, I'm paying for an inexpensive plan they offer, and feel i shd be able to simply block a call ... with or without att protect ... please advise ... thank you! Hey @debs13
Thanks for your post. Unwanted calls and texts are annoying. Some might be fraudulent or illegal. We know they're a problem and when you report them, you help us identify the offenders and block them.
We have a process for customers and would like you to help us get started by reporting unwanted calls & texts. Please click the link to started. Just so you know - you can change your number at no charge once per year. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Dear Kennneth (ATT employee/croney)
Why should us customers be inconvenienced by having to change our phone number in order to stop unwanted call harassment ??? A ridiculous and unhelpful suggestion. And how is reporting these unwanted calls to this form you have linked above supposed to help block them ?? Why don't prepaid customers get the same features as contract customers do ? It's little things like this in how ATT treats it's *assumed* "poorer" (more like more economical) customers like less than, that drives paying customers like me away, to other mobile companies like Spectrum, who costs less, gives more features like unlimited hotspot/calls/texts for $40 less a month, and offers all the same features to their prepaid customers as their contact customers, and with a better, more reliable network. With this kind of treatment for an exorbitant price, good luck with customer retention guys. Bye ATT !!!

It is never our intentions to inconvenience our customers, @CAS1984!
Reporting the numbers allows us to handle them properly. We understand that in most cases the numbers are random and in any sequence but we do have certain measures in place to prevent repeat calls. Suggesting to change your wireless phone number can be an inconvenience but it also allows a fresh start. The best way that customers can guard against unsolicited messages is to be careful about where they distribute their wireless phone number.
If you have any questions or concerns about particular features, just let us know. We are here to assist in any way that we can.
Thank you.
