HBO Max through Directv

I pay for HBO through my Directv subscription, but HBO Max (iOS app) says that it can’t verify my subscription and to contact my service provider. I’ve followed all of the troubleshooting steps (clearing cache, not allowing tv provider, and I even reset my myAT&T password). Nothing works. I still get the same error. I know that I have HBO because I checked that the channel was still there, and I’m still able to log into HBO Go. Can anyone help?

@Constructive I have done all of the troubleshooting steps. It still doesn’t recognize that I pay for HBO as an add on to my Directv subscription

It reads that if you pay for HBO that it isn’t dependent on your type of plan, which makes sense considering I pay $17 through Directv. And if that’s the case then I guess I’ll just have to ditch my HBO add on and buy Max directly. It’s only $15 there

Here’s the error

I get "Your User ID is not authorized Care Code: 205.4" when I try to log in on my phone. I'm getting this at the DirecTV validation step. I've verified that I have the correct login information by going on to the DirecTV web site. And I do subscribe to HBO and DirecTV has been telling me I get HBOMax for weeks.

Sounds like you and I are in the same boat. Hopefully we’ll get a response. It’s almost as if HBO Max can’t see the HBO subscription that’s hooked to our Directv account.

Yep. I've also tried adding the app to a supported Samsung Smart TV, and when I go to activate.hbomax.com, I get the same error when it tries to validate.

Good to know. I tried it on PC with the same result. Has to be an internal issue if it’s doing it across all devices.

It is happening for my Uverse also. So frustrating! It even says when i log in to my account and view my bill..."you have HBO Max". But it doesn't recognize it when i try to log in to the HBO Max.

When you try logging in with DirecTV, it takes you to the myatt.com sign-in page, not the DirecTV sign-in page like it's supposed to. That's why. Two separate accounts that apparently are logged in to with one web page. I've called support and they keep escalating me. Another poster said it's a known issue and that HBO Max support is working on it

The problem with that is that I also qualify for HBO Max with my AT&T wireless subscription. And I log in to AT&T and DirecTV with the same AT&T login. So one way or another it should detect that I qualify.

I talked to a rep on the phone, and she said to wait 24 hours that they were working on it. If I had a dollar for every time an AT&T rep told me that I just needed to wait 24 hours because they were working on it, I'd never have to pay a subscription fee again.

If it takes too long, I’ll just cancel my Directv HBO (that’s $17.99) and just purchase it directly for $15. I have half a mind to just do that anyway.

They escalated me and the only thing they had to say was log in. IT DOESN'T WORK. Their web and app designer put the wrong hyperlink on the DirecTV button.

Again, I qualify via both DirecTV and AT&T Wireless (with the same login information). It's not letting me log in with either link.
