Why is technology advancing so fast?

Life is always moving forward, and so is technology. The only advantage of looking backwards is to recognize our mistakes and try not to repeat them in the future.

In my opinion, it is mostly about resources (people) available to advance any field… as agriculture improved with planting, harvesting, markets fewer were required to work the land and could consider other options in life.

Lets consider how your advancing technology looks against an increasing population…

It is estimated that the population of the world reached one billion for the first time in 1804. It would be more than 100 years before it reached two billion in 1927, but it took only 33 years to reach three billion in 1960. Thereafter, the global population reached four billion in 1974, five billion in 1987, six billion in 1999 and, by some estimates, seven billion in October 2011 with other estimates being in March 2012

Some estimate put the population at 10 billion between 2040 to 2050 with a global code of 1114 in 2015 to 1125 by 2040s.

This is 1 billion western hemispheres, 1 billion Europe including Russia, 1 billion Africa, 4 billion Asia / pacific includes China, India which along is around 2.5 billion.

The Western Hemisphere and Europe are expected to remain flat while Africa will double in population due to improving medical, health, food while Asia / Pacific will add another 1 billion.

For me an interesting fact if take the entire populations of state of New York including NYC, Florida including Jacksonville and George including Atlanta placed into the state of Kentucky would have the nation of South Korea which is part of Asia.
