ATT air and dynamic IP

We got a hard sell from ATT to switch to Air to improve our internet.  It was sold as a package deal with Direct TV streaming. Our internet is great but with its ever changing IP address we ran into location issues with Hulu live. I called Direct TV and they have the same policy of only allowing 4 times a year to change location. I called ATT air and they said they only use dynamic IP address. Then why would Att contract with direct TV if they know  streaming won’t work with dynamic IP? This to me is fraudulent marketing. ATT has known this is a major problem for over 6 months and they are still pushing Air with Direct TV. Hulu live is now refusing to reset accounts for changing IP due to a flood of calls. DSL is being discontinued because it’s such a clunker. We were getting 30-40 mbps which won’t run our devices. Customers are being forced to choose. Fast internet but you really can’t use for live tv streaming services or really slow internet that you can’t really use for anything. . I called Air support and they were like “yeah it’s a really big problem with no solution” It is fraudulent business practice to sell a product that they are fully aware will not work with no solution.

I just filed a complaint with FCC since ATT has chosen not to fix this. People need internet and access to live TV for updates of important issues like emergencies. Yes you can go online but basic access to live TV is also essential

I have spent almost an hour on the phone with Air support. I was told by both technicians that there is not a solution to this problem. Why is ATT continuing to market Air with Direct tv streaming whenDirect Tv has the same policy of only 4 changes a yr for IP address? Hulu live tv is also pushing back due to high volume of calls to reset accounts and now will only allow 4 times a yr. I am sure that You  Tube and other streaming platforms will also push back making Air unusable for live tv streaming

Also I spoke to a supervisor that was “looking into it” I think Att was counting on the streaming platforms to be more generous resetting accounts but due to high volume of calls they have discontinued this policy. What is most egregious is that the very streaming platform that you are contracted with also has this policy.

You can't even order static ip as a fix. Simply put this issue isn't going away for you and those around you that are affected by it as long as you have internet air.

ATT AIR does not have a contract, you are free to cancel at any time and return the hub.

DirecTv Stream will work with any ISP that provides at least 25M internet such as local cable companies.

Direct TV has a 2 yr contract. Direct tv has the same policy for changing IP address. Att Xfinity are all switching to dynamic Ip addresses to handle the high load. It’s literally a doom loop
