I have one web site that my wireless router gateway will not let me access. Using cell data works fine but not Wi-Fi.

I have one web site that my wireless router gateway will not let me access. Using cell data works fine but not Wi-Fi. Same for iPhone, iPad and Macbook. It is Wi-Fi specific. Is the someway to log onto the router to check for prohibited web sites?

Hey @r257, we understand that you’re unable to access one of the website, we’re glad to help and walk you through the right path.

Try the following troubleshooting options from our article that covers the topic of websites not working:

We also recommend restarting your gateway to refresh your Internet connection. This can be done manually by following these steps:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the back of your gateway or modem. If you have:
    • An internal battery backup, remove it
    • DSL, unplug the phone cord from your modem or gateway
  2. Wait 20 seconds.
  3. Put the internal battery back in if you have one.
  4. Plug the power cord back in. If you have DSL service, reconnect the phone cord.
  5. Wait for the gateway or modem to restart and your Broadband light to turn solid green. This can take up to 10 minutes.

Let us know if this helps.

Hi @r257

We're here to help you on addressing your blocked website concerns.

Generally speaking, the Smart Home Manager app is used to block devices, not websites, however the internet service we provide does automatically block websites that we detect to be malicious. There isn't a way to know what website that is though unless you yourself have manually entered it in.

If you think the website is being blocked in error though, you should be able to click Allow Access when the notification pops up to access the site.

Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns, and we'll be happy to help however possible.

Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums!

I am sure that the site is legit, it's my bank. I can access it from any other Wi-Fi or cell data, just not my AT&T WI-FI at that location. The site times out after a couple minutes and returns a "Site cannot be reached" error. I see no option to click "ALLOW ACCESS" Thanks for your reply.

I'm away from that location at this time. I will save this reply and try again when we return. Thx.

If you're experiencing difficulties accessing a specific website only when connected to your Wi-Fi network, but not when using cellular data, the issue might indeed be related to your wireless router's settings.
