What about my firewall

Just installed a brand new R22 today. VOD is working but slow. It got me wondering if my router might be hampering the connection by blocking necessary ports.

So does the DVR need any open ports to get the best of VOD? I really don't want to make it part of the DMZ. So what's going on.
