Two different login errors on DirecTV app

In an effort to diagnose this DirecTV app login fiasco that has been going on for over a year, I thought I'd post this in case it helps. Like thousands of others, I cannot login to the app using proper credentials, nor can I login to any third party apps that require those credentials like HBO GO, ESPN, etc. This despite verifying that those exact same login credentials work perfectly fine at att.com and directv.com.

So here is what I noticed. When I attempt to login using the correct username and password, I get the following error:

1eBw8cF

But when I use the correct user name and an incorrect password, I get this error:

ZAsRPPa

Something has to be going on here since I'm getting the same 100001 error every time I use the proper information, but the 201 error with the incorrect password. It's as if the app recognizes I'm using the right info but still spits out the 100001 error. Any thoughts from the crowd?

And by crowd I do not mean the spam bot "ATTCares" with the cut and paste links to the useless "tech" articles that are meaningless.

I don't know what you did, but after all this time all my apps work! Thank you so much - I can't say how much I appreciate it.

If you  know how it was fixed, maybe you can tell us how. Others may find it helpful.

Hi @Fullboogie,

Your issue was a little unique in that we had to fix some back-end issues manually, but I can share what has fixed the issue for most people. Usually, changing your password to a different password has helped. If still having issues, check out our support article for other things to try.

I have exactly the same problem, same error messages, and have been calling and chatting for months.  I have tried all of the recommended troubleshooting steps numerous times with no change.  Why don't the people I talk to know about these "back-end issues"?  Hearing "I can help you with that" rings pretty hollow when you hear it for the 50th time and they truly are not able to help you.

I reset my password and it's still doing the same issue!

I wish I knew what they did to fix it, sorry guys. I'd PM DavidCS and ask him to look into it. That's ultimately how mine got fixed.

Same Here!   I wish I knew how the issue was fixed.   I've been having the same issue since my account migrated to AT&T.   I've called customer support and have been routed to technical support numerous times only to not here back or have the problem solved.  I'm at my wits end and exploring the possibility of leaving Directv.
