Can’t watch HBO on my device

I currently have direct TV and just got the premium channel (HBO) 

 

i tried watching a show on HBO on my direct tv app, it’d say “

HBO On Demand is not available with your current programming package. You can enjoy this and many other programs by upgrading your programming at Directv.com

 

So then I decided to download the HBO GO app and watch it through there, and it would also say “we are having problems verifying your access to HBO GO through your provider. It appears your direct tv subscription does not have HBO.”

 

I have called directTV to verify I had HBO and they did say yes. I can watch it on my TV. I do have internet access. So I don’t understand why I can’t watch it on my phone. 

Help!!!

Hi @MamaBick,

We understand how frustrating not being able to sign in can be, but not to worry we're here to help! You will want to create your new AT&T Access ID and add your DIRECTV account under that access ID in order to sign into your DIRECTV app. Follow the steps listed in this AT&T Access ID support article to get started. Please note that there are two tabs, one for creating your Access ID, and another for Adding your accounts. If you have any concerns after completing these steps fell free to reach back out! This is the EXACT same problem I am having and I have been talking to customer service for almost an hour with ZERO results. This is ridiculous. I cannot log in to hbo go or use the on demand content on my device which seems a little wrong. At least you can access it on your receiver, I can’t even get that to work anymore. Ugh!

I am having this literal exact same issue. No one at directv or att gives a dang about it as I have been hung up on twice and disconnected from chat once due to whoever I am speaking to being unable to solve the issue. It’s ridiculous. Don’t offer a premium channel unless they can assure the customer that it will work as it should. Ugh!

This makes no sense. And it doesn’t work. It has nothing to do with me logging in the only issue I have is with HBO. I can watch directv anywhere EXCEPT hbo!!

Same problem, different channels, but I can watch them on tv but on the app it says I don’t have the channels. Tried resetting receivers and the app and nothing works

Having the exact same issue.  I was transferred 3 times and we still cannot watch online!  I hate when Directv merged with ATT.  Horrible!

Same as everyone else. The only difference I notice is mine worked until they had that “free” week of HBO for the game of thrones marathon. After the free thing expired .. I can no longer watch hbo through directv app or hbo go. I get the same errors as others mentioned above. And YES I am HBO subscriber.

Same. No answers or solutions from AT&T. Had DirecTV since 2001 and AT&T customer service is horrible. Miss the old DirecTV!

Same problem with me also.  Many hours spent on phone and in live chats.  Promised emails and call backs have also not happened.  So frustrating!

Anyone fix this, i’m Having the same problem. HBO works on my tv receiver but when i login to the HBO go app or the direct tv app it says i don’t have HBO when i know i do.
