Return status of HR24-500 Receivers

I cancelled my Direct TV service this week.  My three receivers are (1) HR24-500 and (2) HR24-700.  The e-mail I immediately received from direct tv said to return the equipment listed and all three receivers were listed.   However, when I received my return box from Direct TV, only the (2) HR24-700 receivers were listed on the label to be returned.  Would I be safe to assume that they do not want the HR24-500 returned?

We're here to help, @BugPeev.

We recommend returning all three receivers to avoid getting charged. Here is more information on everything you need to know on how to return your old DirecTV equipment. Also If the equipment is not returned within 21 days from the date the account is changed or canceled will result in an equipment charge.

Please let us know if this helps!

And probably the sooner the better to allow transportation and whatever time it takes ATT to process the returned equipment into their system........these days.

Strange as the HR24s (regardless of manufacture code) have been non-returnable for some time now. DirecTV has only been taking back SWM-only boxes, which the HR24s are not as they are the last model that can use both SWM and the older multiswitch. Perhaps they made a change to get some in stock for MPEG swaps.

I would hold onto the 3rd one for a couple months to be sure you don't get a non-return fee (NRF). After that you would be free to recycle, just remove the access card first as that gets disposed of securely like a credit card.

If this is not canceling the account, but just deactivating certain boxes (replacement or just reducing TVs), verify the following bill that the number of TV fees is correct for going forward.
