AT&T Messaging Update Killed My Texting

I received an update to AT&T Messaging app last week that caused text messages to deliver randomly (sometimes as expected, sometimes hours or days later).

I uninstalled the offending upgrade and I no longer recieve text messages. I can send just fine, just not receive.

Is there a known fix for this AT&T Messaging Virus?

So, it sounds like you guys are having the same issue I had. Everything was workin except for outgoing texts. I contacted support and this is what fixed it for me!

**From the home screen, tap Messaging

**Press the Menu key, and then tap Settings.

**For the message center number make sure it reads +13123149810

and voila, it worked. Somehow mine was changed on the update. Hope this helps!

Just finished with the online chat help with the same problem.

I had to change my Message Center Number to an alternative number.

To do this go to:

Messages>Settings>Message Center Number

If it looks like this:

+13603399740

Change it to this alernative Message Center:

+13123149810

Then resend your text.  It should go through after the change as long as your in the United States.  Not sure if it will work outside the states.

Hope this helps, Cheers!

What does it mean if it were changed? I'm confused what it would do.
