I have been a customer of Direct tv for over 10 years. I have had countless problems, none of them solved by their technicians, nor by the so-called experts on these forums. The only good advice I got here was, "If it is so bad, go to someone else." So, that what I finally did. I had Disk Network installed this morning. I have never been so disappointed with any service a...

dcd; I don't think you understand the problem. There is no problem playing the videos. I have yet to try a format that does not work. I can play Mpeg2,3,4, AVI, even mkv. The problem is the screen saver cuts in after 10 min. That is not the real problem. The real problem, that I discussed with Direct, and with people here on these forums is; There is no help for this prob...

I have been fighting this problem ever since direct came out with Media Share. The screen saver comes on while watching a video. I recently emailed Direct with a request for resolution of this problem, here is the response from their "Resolution Specialist". Susan C. (ID U7499) (06/13/2014 05:02 PM) Dear Mr. Collier, Thank you for writing. I understand your frustration wi...

Another good example of someone giving advise that doesn't know what he is talking about. jcat has a lengthy monologue about how copper clad steel is inferior, which is just not true. An rf signal traveling on a solid wire only travels on the outer edge, the higher the frequency the more to the outer edge. Look up "skin effect". This kind of things should be left to the e...

Britt, I am sorry you are have so many problems. I, like everyone else on this forum can only sympathize with you. I have been where you are now and it is very frustrating to have a real problem and no one is there to help. On this forum you will get a lot of people offering suggestions, and telling you to try "this, or that", none of which will solve your problem. I have...

If you read your agreement with Direct they promise to provide all your local stations. If you check other service providers they do provide them. I got HD service a year before they provided any local stations, (all the time paying for local service) I finally got local stations but did not get all of them. Direct told me they were providing all they were going to. I tol...

The definition of insanity is; to do the same thing over and over, expecting different results. I thought I would try one more time to get a meaningful response to a real problem. I realize now that is not possible. I have not gotten one response with even the slightest offer of help or answer to my simple question. All I get are arguments telling me how I should think. T...

I don't know how to link to a previous post, but someone did and it worked very well. I have a HR24-200 receiver, but I fail to see what difference it makes because this problem is not model specific. I don't want to get into "I said - You said". The references were general because I was just saying that there have been several times I have asked for help without any posi...

I have posted several times with several problems. I have never got a satisfactory response. My latest problem was "screen saver", posted last January. I got no help from this forum. I contacted Direct TV and talked to three different people who acted like they had never heard of my problem. Their only suggestion is to go back to this forum and see if someone on here can ...

The screen saver comes on while watching live TV, I lose picture and sound. I defy anyone to show me a need for a screen saver on a HD television. You could leave a still picture on for 10 years and it will not burn. That went out with CRTs and some very early Plasmas. It is just a source of trouble, and has been ever since they put it in.

Jimme57, I did not respond to your question because all of your question was addressed in a previous post. A lot of the people on this forum keep saying they do not work for Direct TV. I say, yes, you do. You are doing work for Direct TV if you are attempting to solve customer complaints, or issues with the line of products sold by Direct TV. You may not be paid for this ...
