ok, finally after one month, my U-Verse problems are over. They replaced the outside box- the ONT box - a box typically located on the side of your house or in your garage, where AT&T's fiber network terminates. I am back to terrific speeds. I am getting 11.5Mbps downloads consistently. Lesson learned: Dont assume that things will get better after a tech visit. Dont assum...

To give a little more background. I only have U-Verse high speed internet service (12 Mbps plan) right now. I had the TV service for a few months and I feel that my internet service went bad after I cancelled my TV service. I am not sure whether it is this or it is that all the new homes right next to ours have U-verse since that is the only option currently available in ...

Good post but before people start spending hours trying to figure out wireless interference ... Having spent time reading thru the forums about interference, I think it is best to validate that interference is the problem by doing a simple test. Take your residential gateway outside and connect it to the line that is coming into the house and connect your laptop to the bo...

Having spent time reading thru the forums about interference, I think it is best to validate that interference is the problem by doing a simple test. Take your residential gateway outside and connect it to the line that is coming into the house. If it still doesn't work then intereference is not your problem. It is some setting in the AT&T network that no one knows that i...

I had a sixth technician who came home today to troubleshoot my slow internet problem. My problem is that occasionally I get good service but more recently I have been having terrible service either it is slow or it wont even let me browse. I installed U-Verse Realtime today and I realized that I have an FTTP line (Fiber To The Premise). The Data Rate Out and Date Rate In...

One more thing, I started noticing the intermittent connections after I disconnected the tv service. I am wondering whether there is any prioritization going on based on whether I have or dont have TV service. I have a feeling that the time I have really slow internet connection is when everyone in the neighborhood is watching TV (and all of them in my subdivision are on ...

I didn't realize that all these could cause interference. I am having intermittent connectivity issues and I called Tier 2 support 10 times already and they sent 5 technicians but no one could fix the problem. The finger pointing went on and on between the inside tech and outside tech. But, no resolution. The problem I see is that I get no internet sometimes typically bet...
