@jefe Do you have trouble connecting to wifi calling every time you come into your house? If not, how often? I sometimes have 4G and sometimes LTE in my house, 1 or 2 bars. Perhaps the reason I don't have this problem so often has something to do with this, and the weakness of the cell signal. Nate

Otto, Apple tech support closed my bug, saying that they sent it on to the appropriate people. I don't have high hopes, but hope to be proven completely wrong.

Yes, and really putting it in perspective - this is a minor annoyance. For me anyway, wifi calling works great. and I am really happy with it. Thanks AT&T.

@jefe I have 1 or 2 bars usually and fairly reliably connect to wifi calling. But sometimes I don't, and have to put it in airplane mode to get it, and like you after that it stays there. What actually would make the most sense would be a network by network setting to use wifi calling. We would always have it on at home and nowhere else. I can see where someone in an off...

Has anyone else occasionally had trouble getting AT&T Wi-Fi on their phone when coming into the house? I have, and have to put it in airplane mode to get it even though I have only 1 or 2 bars of cell coverage. Otto, please add this to your questions to ask ATT. It is only an occasional annoyance. @Wireless_Guru Please make this suggestion at bugreport.apple.com @mcs2014...

I echo what Avedis said. I want wifi to always have preference if the wifi signal is good and particularly if you have turned off Wi-Fi Assist under cellular preferences. If a start a call with wifi calling I want it to keep using wifi as long as the signal is good. Or at least make it a preference. I believe this is up to Apple to change. I don't care at all about handof...

I suggest that all those who, like me, want wifi calling to override a marginal cell signal to go to bugreport.apple.com and file a bug.

I agree with avedis on the quality of wifi calling - excellent. I have filed a bug with Apple (and I believe it is their code) that preference should be given to wifi calling over cellular, particularly in a case like mine where I have strong wifi everywhere but occasionally 3 bars of cell, which will make wifi calling go away. Usually I have 1 or 2 bars of cell service. ...

roark69, why do you want to connect to the microcell at all if you have wifi calling? The 1 or 2 bars you have on normal cell service means nothing - that is why it enabled wifi calling, because cell service is lousy. As long as your wifi network is good, calls will be fine. Why do you need the microcell at all? I sold mine.

I believe that I do have voice over LTE, since that is required for wifi calling which I also have. In the LTE option it has the option of voice and data over LTE. That is what is selected. All I know is that a 1 bar LTE voice call will be terrible. Nate

Look, I know that a 1 bar LTE conversation will be terrible, and a 4 bar 4G one will be good. So yes it is a bug!
