email login

Why doesn't the following site allow me to log into my sbcglobal email?

https://loginprodx.att.net

It spits back:

The information you entered does not match our records. Please reenter your User ID and Password.

The User ID and Password are being entered correctly.

This is a problem that occured starting today 8/18/2016.

ATT customer service said to clear my cookies or use a different browser.

The problem occurs with Chrome, Edge and IE.

Clearing the cookies sometimes works and sometimes does not.

The web site:

https://login.yahoo.com/

works

This is clearly an att/yahoo web site problem accessing the login information and has nothing to do with the browsers.

Hello @rsittig,

It does not work because it needs more of the address to work correctly. See, when you go to att.yahoo.com and click the sign in button it pulls info from cookies and such and places specific strings behind the loginprodx.att.net that it needs to set up the right page. this is an example of what the extra strings look like

https://loginprodx.att.net/commonLogin/igate_edam/controller.do?TAM_OP=login&USERNAME=unauthenticated&ERROR_CODE=0x00000000&ERROR_TEXT=HPDBA0521I%20%20%20Successful%20completion&METHOD=GET&URL=%2FFIM%2Fsps%2FATTidp%2Fsaml20%2Flogininitial%3FRequestBinding%3DHTTPPost%26PartnerId%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Flogin.yahoo.com%2Fsaml%2F2.0%2Fatt%26.lang%3Den-US%26Target%3Dhttps%253a%2F%2Fatt.yahoo.com%253f.lts%3D1471554195&REFERER=https%3A%2F%2Fatt.yahoo.com%2F&HOSTNAME=loginprodx.att.net&AUTHNLEVEL=&FAILREASON=&PROTOCOL=https&OLDSESSION=

Now this was done from an incognito session, but as you can see there is way more to it. This is how it "remembers" you when just browse to the site.

But it doesnt matter, you can use the yahoo log in, because they host the email. When you are logging in to your email or personal page then you are actually logging in to yahoo.

Had the same problem today, couldn't access my bellsouth.net email. Talked with customer service for over an hour, no luck. Finally decided to try and login thru yahoo.com and it worked. Still doesn't work thru att.net. Try bringing up the yahoo home page and login thru their email tab. Hope it works.

Thank you for your response ATTDSLCare.

I shortened the link for brevity in my original post. I have a button on my bookmarks bar to go directly to the login page for my email. That link is the full link to https://loginprodx.att.net/commonLogin/igate_edam/... with all the associated cookies.

The link has worked for many years until yesterday.

What's much, much worse is that there is *** no way at all *** to get to your email thru att.yahoo.com unless one thinks of using incognito mode. Entering the correct email address and password multiple times does not work. Clearing the browser cache does not work. Using google to find an alternate url related to sbcglobal or att to login does not work because the mail button redirects you to the loginprodx.att.net. This problem is obviously generating support calls. This was the first time I ever called in since I am in IT myself.

I suspect the problem lies in the way cookies are now generated and handled. It may now not be possible to have a bookmark directly to the login page.

@rsittig I have successfully logged in from multiple machines starting at att.yahoo.com (not signing in there) then clicking on the mail link, which should take you to the log in page. I just did with an incognito session and pulled this link

https://loginprodx.att.net/commonLogin/igate_edam/controller.do?TAM_OP=login&USERNAME=unauthenticated&ERROR_CODE=0x00000000&ERROR_TEXT=HPDBA0521I%20%20%20Successful%20completion&METHOD=GET&URL=%2FFIM%2Fsps%2FATTidp%2Fsaml20%2Flogininitial%3FRequestBinding%3DHTTPPost%26PartnerId%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Flogin.yahoo.com%2Fsaml%2F2.0%2Fatt%26.lang%3Den-US%26Target%3Dhttps%253a%2F%2Fmail.yahoo.com%253f.lts%3D1471697934&REFERER=https%3A%2F%2Fatt.yahoo.com%2F&HOSTNAME=loginprodx.att.net&AUTHNLEVEL=&FAILREASON=&PROTOCOL=https&OLDSESSION=

and this full link appears to work.. I tried to shorten it, but no such luck.

But as previously mentioned, you can just go to https://mail.yahoo.com and log in with your AT&T email address. It will take you to your email, yahoo hosts the email.
