Once you have been switched to the new email platform you can't switch back.

What's Changed

The new AT&T Yahoo! Webmail has an updated design with better features. You'll still have access to your existing messages, folders, and calendar items, along with some new features we think you'll love.

All att.net Mail users will be moved to our updated webmail platform, free of charge. The update will take place over several weeks, with all customers being moved to the updated webmail platform by mid July 2013. Once your account has been updated to the new platform, you'll see the new changes upon logging in to your webmail account. To help get to your email a little faster, we've removed the "What's New" page so you'll now be taken directly to your inbox.

Important Note

You will not have the option to switch back to another version of att.net Mail once your account has been moved to the updated webmail platform.

We also want to assure you that during this update, your email address will not be changed, but all AT&T email customers who use att.net Mail will be upgraded to the new look and feel. This includes all variations of att.net Mail email addresses including @att.net, @sbcglobal.net, @bellsouth.net, etc. Also, if you access your email through an email client program like Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, Windows Live Mail, Gmail, etc., there will be no change to your email or email settings.

I too have had CONSTANT problems/issues with the new web-based, yahoo-powered, AT&T email interface since the switch.    I have the latest flash, java etc installed and this occurs irrespective of which of three browsers I'm using (chrome being my preference).

The constant re-loads -- occasionally 10-minutes or more into a detailed email (if I haven't manually clicked the "save draft" feature or the crash occurs prior to my doing so..) -- and the window electing to jump tabs or other erratic behavior costs me, AT MINIMUM, an hour each day or more in wasted time!   I am frustrated beyond belief with yahoo mail and AT&T on this issue.

Until this issue became a constant problem, I've been a relatively happy UVERSE customer since the service rolled out in the SF Bay Area apx 4-years ago and have referred a large number of individuals to the service.   I am now contemplating switching my default web-based email to gmail, which I abhor, but I have to do something -- at least gmail's interface is stable!

I've emailed AT&T, but have NEVER received a response or any suggestions about fixing this problem which ONLY appeared after the forced "upgrade" -- I NEVER had any email issues prior to this ridiculous "improvement".

Any suggestions, and/or useful links to voice my concerns would be greatly appreciated!!

Signed,

A VERY frustrated Uverse customer.

I would recommend that you send a Private Message to the ATTU-verseCare Community Specialist team.  One of the specialists will respond to your PM shortly.  Please look for the flashing envelope at the top right of the page for your response from a team member.

They will be able to investigate your issue in their lab and move it up the food chain for further testing if needed.  Copy and paste this link in your PM: http://forums.att.com/t5/U-verse-email/I-would-like-to-switch-back-to-mail-classic-don-t-like-the-new/m-p/3734167/highlight/true#M773

Hello everyone, there is a very active thread going on in the link above, discussing the new email layout, I moved all the posts related to the redesign there for better exposure.

Thanks,

Dmitriy
