U-Verse phone not working on certain prefix numbers

I found out by reading posts that there is an issue with the NV5031 firmware using DMZplus. I have a video security system that requires Dyns service to keep from losing IP connection through a dynamic IP service. That required activating DMZplus. Since 7-23-14 I have been dealing with AT&T trying to figure out why 800, 877, 866 and wireless connections had no ring and no voice. It appeared to be an IP routing issue. The field tech took the gateway to the VRAD and connected to the port and duplicated the issue happening in my house. It appears that the gateway  was in the DMZplus mode when he did the test. I disabled the DMZplus and tested my phones and everything appears to be now working. AT&T needs to consider replacing the NV5031 with another version that has DDNS capability. If the U-Verse connection is a static IP connection then this will not be an issue. With the proliferation of home security and camera systems AT&T needs to be sure these systems will not be compromised by upgrading to U-Verse.

Hi @hcnerf,

I am sorry about the issues you are having with your U-verse services, but I will be glad to help. We are still investigating this issue and trying to pinpoint where the problem is coming from. It does not seem to happen on all numbers, and it does not consistently happen on all accounts. I will send you a private message to gather more information and work towards getting this issue resolved for you.

I figured out my problem on my own. It turns out that the most unlikely
thing was the problem. Somehow the Pace NV5031 gateway/router causes certain
prefix numbers to not work properly. The symptom is no return ring and no
receive voice. The DMZplus mode is what caused the issue. I built an
application and saved it in your Pace NV5301 for my security system that
requires Dynamic IP service Dyns.org to keep my system active when the ISP
IP address changes . The program resides in my router/access point which is
behind your gateway/router which required activating DMZplus to allow that
to function.

It made no logical sense that DMZplus would cause only certain prefix
numbers not to function so that was why it was overlooked by everyone
including myself. I just decided to see what would happen if I deactivated
DMZplus after reading posts on the AT&T forum. Much to my amazement the
phone worked on the numbers previously in trouble.

I then built an application in the gateway/router and forwarded my ports and
that seems to have cured the problem. My security system is active on the
internet and time will tell if it auto-updates when the ISP IP address
changes.
