phone hookup for power outage

How do I connect my phone so it will work if the power goes out?

bill32 - If you have POTS and a plain old phone to go with it, you do not have to do anything. Your service is not dependent on house power.

If you have u-verse voice a battery is included in your service. Use a plain old phone with it.

If you have a wireless phone system, some work off the handset batteries during a power failure.
