Hello mariusfrik, we're here to help you get an esim with an AT&T PREPAID Plan.
To obtain the eSIM you would have to purchase in an AT&T corporate store. The activation card comes with a QR code that must be scanned and directions on how to activate the device.
Let us know if this helps. Reach back out to us if you have any other questions.

Great questions @mariusfrik, let's discuss them.
Yes, if your device needs a QR code to install an eSIM, then you'll need to go into a physical location to get the code. You can use the store locator Jeff sent above to find the nearest corporate store near you by filtering search results by Company Owned Stores.
If you have an iPhone running iOS 15 or newer, you'll be able to convert a physical SIM to an eSIM on the same device by following these steps:
Please let us know if you have any other questions regarding this, we'll be happy to clear this up for you.

I don't know whether ATT has upgraded their systems to allow the conversion on the phone from pSIM to eSIM. When it was first offered, it would only work for postpaid.
I continued to fail for me when I tried it on prepaid. I ended up going to a corporate store.
I've since left ATT Prepaid, then came back with a different number. My current number isn't using an eSIM.
