New 3rd number ringing on two devices

We have two Iphone 13 pros each with its own phone number. We want to add a new third number and have that new number ring on both devices. Is this possible? Do we need to switch to a Esim?

There cannot be two SIM cards with the same phone number on it.  No not through a service provider.

You could add a virtual number like a Google voice number and use that on two phones. It would use data only, it would not be a "real " number. It would not be recognized by financial institutions.

I do have a Google voice number I use it on both of my phones. All of my voicemail messages for both phones are forwarded to the one Google voice number and account.

I can make and receive calls for that Google voice number on both phones.

You'll need to select a Gmail account that you will use on both phones and then you can sign up for a free Google voice number.

Hello @Jbam, we hear you and let's get the information you need!

There are ways to have a number ring on multiple phones but not through ATT. You can set up “calls on other devices” with iPhones, if you want the number to ring on both iPhones.

Hope this information helps!

(Sigh...)

That only works if both phones are signed into the same Apple ID.

(Each user should have their own Apple ID)

Which means you get ALL of the calls  for FaceTime,  iMessages, ALL to that Apple ID.

And it is exclusive to the Apple ID. Which means no landlines, no Android devices, only iPhones.

It's not a third number. And it's not what the original poster asked for
