I got a fishy email: Is this for real?

AT&T account update

Important! The old version mailbox closure notification mail below was sent to you not long ago and it wasn't treated as required. We are hereby calling your full attention to it again.
 
We are closing all old versions of our Mailbox, as a result of this, you are required to switch to our newest version and Join AT&T! secure email service.
Please refer to the link below on how to resolve this issue.
Click here to Upgrade to Latest Version
Failure to resolve this issue will lead to the immediate termination of your email account

got the same thing! almost got me but i new att would give more time and where it was from did not look right.

I've been getting these messages periodically. Rather than click on the contained link, I come to the website directly and check my notifications; if the message isn't there the email is fraudulent.

Hey @th3rdpwr, we understand you have concerns regarding phishing emails, we’re glad to help and walk you through the right path.

 

Generally speaking, if an email comes from an address that ends in the domain '@att.com', it can normally be assumed that it's a legitimate communication from us. If you believe the email to be a phishing email attempt though, then we encourage you to report the fraudulent email. Here's how you can do so:

 

Report email fraud
Email fraud can include phishing .

Uh... Bruce.  Most AT&T mail doesn't actually come from "ATT.COM".  But you probably didn't know that.
