AT&T DATA BREACH service failure

No help for former customers who have changed address and email. My free credit monitoring service from Chase alerted me my ss # was obtained and now our there due to AT&T breach. Their global fraud system can't assist me since I no longer am a client and their website has no way to contact and/or notify them of my new address, email so they can contact me with the free credit monitoring service which would include some reimbursement if the breach causes loss of assets

Hi @P-ed_ff! Thank you for reaching out to us! We hear you, and are happy to guide you.

The Community Forums are a public support option where other users, and AT&T, will try and assist with high level support needs. This means we won’t be able to look into account specific concerns.  To get the help you need for your unique issue, please review our Contact Us page - https://www.att.com/support/contact-us/, and choose the best option to reach out to us.  You can call, chat, or reach out via social media, and we can review your specific issue and provide you support.  If you feel your issue isn’t account specific, and can be answered generally, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to help.

Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums!

I was told on this form that the date of AT&T‘s fault. That’s entirely laughable given that we as a community has given AT&T the private information in order to gain access to their services. They then farmed it out to other subsidy areas, and were subject to the data breach. We are all now, suffering the consequences of their inept business practices. I have reached out several times with no results to demand that they extend The credit monitoring. I have nothing but disdain for AT&T. I will leave them as quickly as I can. Any company that holds private information should be held when they lose it.

Call around. Practically every major corporation does this and some even use off-shore vendors. It saves them money and makes their investors happy. Should it be done? No. And all previous customer data should be purged after a period of time, not kept for years. But, that's the way Corporate America works.
