Cancelled Internet and know turned over to collections

I cancelled my internet on Jan 10th 2017 and now I have been turned over to collections. When I cancelled internet i also paid the balance due then started receiving statements that I owed a balance and in fact my internet was not shut off. At&T finally shut it off on May 16th and is now showing i owe 170.65 which is all charges after my shut off date. How convenient that they give me a number of R45843761 as the cancellation number that is not in their system or at least no one can seem to find it? I have over 10 hours of dealing with people that really do not care any longer to help out when the mistake is AT&T not myself. So I will be cancelling over 2000.00 per month of wireless and moving to Verizon for our corporate account and I am sure you do not care but this is just not right. Also I'm in charge of another 7200.00 per month with phone bills for corporation that will follow as well. You have one more chance to help with this or I am done simply do not have the time to argue about a bill that I do not owe for? Please let me know but I would not recommend AT&T customer service is not good at all  and you will deal with 10 departments that just keep passing you around like a ping pong ball.

Greetings @scanman93611!

Happy Thursday! Being billed for an account which you have already requested to be canceled is definitely concerning. I would be more than happy to assist you with taking care of this; so let’s get started.

In order to further assist you with this, I will need some further information. Can you please private message us @ATTHelp with your full name, account number, and phone number? This will allow us to research the account in further detail.

Thank you and we look forward to your response!

Still a joke and I look forwaed to the day when the latest iphone is released you will loos a big corporate account. Also service for your business service is going to be gone for you ob August 30th as well. Kudos to very  poor customer service.

I had two ATT call center “supervisors” “cancel” the already “cancelled” account that was billing me after the original “cancellation” date. I cancelled DSL to start U-Verse. I was getting billed for both (no activity on the DSL account). Four months after the 2nd “supervisor” “cancelled” and “removed” the “balance” of the DSL account, I begin receiving calls from IC Systems about collecting a debt from the DSL account that was 50% greater than the amount the ATT “supervisors” “removed” and “cancelled.” I’m extremely disappointed with ATT!!!

They did nothing for me I just paid the bill for the internet and then cancelled all corporate phone plans and we t to Verizon. It’s really to bad that after 24 years it had to come to that..

I apologize. If I read first post better, I would have caught on.😳

I spent 6 hours of my time dealing with At&T regarding this account that was cancelled! They sent me to countless reps and departments to give me the runaround I had cancellation number and now that number doesn’t exist..hum.. they wasted my time, money and resources.

They lost 2 accounts of 5k per month since they were incompetent to handle such an easy situation I felt why do business with them any longer as it’s obvious they really don’t care.

I will not ever do business with them.. period
