Airplay streaming not working with BGW320

I recently moved and now have AT&T fiber service with the BGW320 modem/router. Since upgrading I can't stream using the Airplay protocol. My computer and phone are on the 5ghz network, while one of the Airplay devices is on 2.4ghz and the other on 5ghz.

The devices are connected and I can use Spotify connect with no problem. If I turn off the BGW320 and turn on my old Netgear router with the same SSID Airplay works with no problem.

I tried turning off IPv6 on the BGW320 just to test, still no go. Pretty stumped on this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's not a bad idea to factory reset the Gateway if you've never done so.  Sometimes the NVRAM settings seem to contain artifacts that cause strange behavior.  Unless one of the networks you're using is the Guest network, I'd expect this to work.  (There have been issues in the past with isolation between the WLAN and the Ethernet LAN, but I think those are long gone.)

Here to hep with your Wi-Fi, @laytonhayes!

We see you mentioned that both your computer and phone are on the 5 GHz channel and you have one device on that 5 GHz and another on the 2.4 GHz.

Does this only occur when attempting to use the device that is on the 2.4 GHZ channel or both 2.4 and 5 GHz?

Let us know!

Thanks for the reply. This happens with both devices (2.4ghz and 5ghz).

Hi, @laytonhayes

Does this continue to happen after factory resetting your modem back to the original settings? This can correct any connection issues that may be going on.

Let us know if that helps!

This only thing I've changed from factory settings is the SSID.

Hi, @laytonhayes.

Just to clarify, did you factory reset your gateway as @charles suggested?

Just to clarify your situation, both your 2.4 and 5.0 networks are named the same?

Correct, @browndk26 . Both networks have the same name and password.

If you haven’t tried already, try turning AirPlay off on the devices and then turn it back on. You could try turning airplay off and on for the devices you are streaming to.

Everything has been power cycled a few time @browndk26
