McAfee Real Time Scan on my Mac not working

I downloaded McAfee on my Mac, and the Real Time Scan keeps toggling on and off every few seconds.  Does anyone have a fix for this?  I can't be the only one having this issue.  I contacted McAfee, and they acknowledged the existing issue, but said I needed to call AT&T for the fix. I contacted AT&T this morning and didn't any luck, so I'm hoping one of you can help.

I'm running OS X Yosemite v10.10.5.
