Does AT&T Throttle Access to CrashPlan?
I have been noticing for a while now that upload speed to my cloud backup provider have been very slow. I have been seeing 5-10 KB/sec upload speeds to CrashPlan (per Mac Activity Monitor), while I get much higher speeds uploading to many other sites.
On a whim I tried installing and activating a VPN. Now I am seeing upload speeds of 200-400 KB/sec when using the VPN - again reported by Mac Activity Monitor. The CrashPlan app reports similar findings.
Is direct traffic to CrashPlan's servers being throttled by AT&T?
