AT&T Internet Features

Hi, I have the AT&T copper wire traditional landline service. The website for that service says to block anonymous callers, dial *77. When I dial *77 I just hear an error tone, a bit like a busy tone. How can I block anonymous callers?

Had this account for several years and used for my previous business. Then once I could not log in and at&t were not able to help. So I created a gmail account. Would like to know if I can still get into that account plus one other.
