@Misk1014 - Possibly a DNS problem. Does the Sony allow specifying a DNS? Enter 8.8.8.8 for google DNS server.

@podsaid40 - Try moving the WAP to a better location - Make sure it is at least two meters from the RG. A little change in location can make a big difference. THe closer you can get to the wireless boxes the better - If you see a good location get a longer cat5 cable from monoprice.com.

@liquefied1 - Does your direct TV box have a telephone jack? Connect it to your tel wiring distributed from the tel jack on the U-verse RG. May need to turn it on with a Direct TV menu. Ask direct TV where the menu item is.

@j1saugie - VM access is *98. You choose PIN on setup. Dial *98 & see if it gives you promts for setup. If not call 800-299-2020 for assitance More info here - - https://www.att.com/esupport/article.html#!/u-verse-voice/KM1010565 Once setup you can probably assign *98 to a VM button on the phone & you can set the VM NOT to require the PIN when calling from home - to make...

@home123 - Set the TV to normal. How is it connected to the STB? - Connect either HDMI or component (three connections for video & two for audio) In u-verse - go to MENU-Options-System options - TV screen res & set it to match your TV.. When it does the test, you will need to move th cursor to accept the setting.

@cajuncook Did you use it with an Arris NVG599? No, an old 3801 Did it require any reprogramming? No connected with WPS - WPS needs to be enabled in the RG

@fixer_upper Thanks for the explanation on the Balun. I thought of another rain cloud to bring up - HDMI is not just a one way physical conection. It is a two way logical connection. It contains a tag (HDCP) that the TV provides back to the STB to let it know it is not a copy device. If the STB does not see this tag it shuts down the video. There have been cases where TV...

@Psak210 - Why? Whats the problem? Is the bank looking for the check digit - The bank wants a ten digit number & the U-vers number is nine digits?? The check digit is located at the bottom of the paper bill where you send a check in. Another reason??

@farmgirl8 - Do you have any other eqpt connected? If no the wi-fi could be dead by lightening. Not sure how you test it except for trying another connection. You can access RG gui to see if it appears to be on - http://192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=C_2_1 I suppose you could reboot(pull the plug) the RG to see if it comes back.

@fixer_upper RE: Each balun would only be controlling 1 uverse box so there shouldn't be an interference should there? Perhaps I misunderstand - I am thinking the balun is the wire termination. It needs to connect to an IR blaster to control u-verse STB. U-verse STBs are only controlled by IR. If the IR is not hidden from the "other" STBs it will control them, as well. I...

The limit on TVs has been 8. Perhaps it is increasing with higher bandwidth service. Also, the standard TV delivery is four streams(channels) at the same time. Of course this is increasing. Good idea to wire access points. You will need switches to provide enough connections. Keep TV & internet access on seperate cables back to the RG. Keep HDMI &IR on seperate cables. Yo...

@jiminsgv - No, not for DVR. The RG generates internet wi-fi. If you change the RG it will have a new network ID & password.. Wireless rcvr wi-fi is generated by a WAP & new RCVRs should connect auto when authorized.

@aedan929 - The green cable is a data grade cable with rj-11 ends. Data connections are usually Rj-45 ends. Here is a source for rj-11 ends - http://www.cablesondemand.com/category/MPUSCat5E/product/MP-52RJ11UNNE/URvars/Items/Library/InfoManage/MP-52RJ11UNNE.htm The tel cable is a standard tel cable with rj-11 ends, readily available. @Lb1118 -Try your local thrift store or e-bay or Amazon. Ask a tech if you see one. Can you borrow one from friend or family? Get a universal remote - https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=RCRP05BR How about a logitech Harmony 650? Install app on your phone or pad.

@annette1217 - Only if high speed service is available in your area. It is a physical limitation of the copper transport. Four is better than zero for most. But, not for everyone. Try watching mostly recording. It does take effort to coordinate stream allocation. You lose casual viewing. When co-ordinating usage, try to take advantage of airings in the middle of the nigh...

@3wishesjs - No all STBs have the same services. The SMART side of the TV is conneted to the internet access side of u-verse. Either cat5 cable to the RG or wi-fi. The blackpout problem sounds like the TV & STB do not have a good HDMI connection. Try a shorter cable Try a different HDMI input on the TV. The sure solution is to change to component connection, instead of H...
