fontek007 wrote: The new update is available as of 09-23-2009. Customers who downloaded bundle 508 should upgrade as soon as they are able as bundle 508 contains the software issue that is remedied in bundle 517. Customers on earlier versions (bundle 298 and maintenance release bundle 438) should be made aware of the performance enhancements and added capabilities of bund...

Not trusting the OTA upgrade, I chose the desktop method for upgrading the OS. So far, very happy with this OS. Visual Voicemail works as advertised.

Apparently it is available as an OTA upgrade. RIM simply hasn't updated their site yet. I am just a tad leery of upgrading my device over the air, and would be veryinterested in other users experiences with that upgrade.

That was one of the first places checked. Even the thread titled: "official" AT&T OS didn't have it (yet). I have experimented with some of the other OS releases but find they usualy have some bug that I rather not deal with so I prefer the official AT&T OS. Oh well, in all truthfulness, .167 seems to work just fine for me, with the exception of Wi-Fi and a wpa-personal s...

Thanks, I found it right after my post. Installed and now will see if there is much difference. First thing I noticed; there is more application memory than previous. We'll see about the memory leak, which was pretty severe on my device. After a battery pull, it would start out at 18mb and within 6 hours be down to 8mb. I got into the habbit of doing a battery pull every ...

Odd, I have received no such email from RIM, I have owned this Bold since December of 08 and have had no updates offered. Device came with .167 - I can find no such software update on the RIM site either. The desktop manager can find no such update as well - do yo have a link?

You could try using BBAlert. WIth that you can change the color of the flashing light, You can change the frequency of when it flashes and I'm pretty sure you can change the intensity of the light too. Just a thought Message Edited by michaelsw on 04-04-2009 10:16:43 AM
