That's what I've been saying... when flipping back and forth between two remotes, it's not that easy. The buttons for specific functions on the older remote are not in the same place on the mini, in fact, some are no longer there. So if I continue to use the old remote on one TV, I'll have mini's on the other three.

It was only after the technician showed me how much more efficient the mini remote was and we programmed it that he discovered the problem with the sound bar. He felt there would be no probllem getting a 4400 replacement box for my 3400. Guess he wasn't aware that there is a problem doing jsut that... surprisingly all the support people at DirecTV I spoke to about this we...

And that seems to be the problem. Somehow they consider two obviously different boxes as the same thing. Each has a different method of programming the remotes. Evidentally, the mini remote doesn't work with the 3400 box to enter what is needed in the instructions.

There is no AV1 switch on the mini remote. That's the problem. I it has to be done by following instructions from the 4400 box.

Exactly my point. I assumed that DirecTV controlled their inventory to the point they knew which units were being sent out with each technician. Guess not.

Not according to the technician who attempted to program the remote. It was his experience, he explained, that the series 4400 box asks you to input the make of soundbar you are trying to control, while the 3400 doesn't ask that question and therefore is unable to program the remote.

I don't feel I should have to buy a new HR44 just because DirecTV is unable to send a tech to the house with a unit.

Not a real solution for me. Having sense memoryt of all the remotes except one, means, at night, turning on a light in the bedroom to find the button I want.

Anybody else hitting the wall at DirecTV regarding upgrading to a new 4400 model box? I have gone around and around with them concerning the inability of my new Mini-remote to control my LG Sound Bar. The older remote did it just fine. But, when I received the new Mini-remote the 3400 box is unable to program it to control the Sound Bar. A technician advised me that the n...

Evidently not solvable by DirecTV. You have to change the recording stop times.

One was on A&EHD, the other was WGNHD. As I said, the frustrating part of it is the length of the show recorded bar read 1:10 which was the length of the show in the guide, but both stopped at about 1:05 leaving the crucial last 5 minutes unviewable.

Twice I have now had programs scheduled to record for 1:10 stop at 1:05 missing, in both cases, the crucial last scene. It is irritating to say the least, especially when someone else had the same complaint on this site but it is Locked so I have no chance to view the response.
