I have a problem with the picture freezing and pixilating. I ran the hard drive diagnostic test three times and the results were: Smart short test:3016 fail passed 3016 fail Smart long test:3016 fail 3016 fail 3016 fail What does this mean? Any help would be much appreciated.

I didn't want new equipment due to having another 2 year contract so I did 4 resets over 2 weeks ago and my old HR34 is performing fine.

I did the Red Red Blue Blue Yellow Green also and got the NVRAM cleared message but it did not help with the delay of remote to receiver. One other person on this forum tried the 4 resets after me and it worked for him too.

I did 4 red button and be sure to let it completely re-boot and go back to tv picture before pushing reset each time.

Anyone that is having a delay, freezing, or fast forward rewind problem with the HR-34 receiver, there is a simple fix that will take about 30 minutes. For the HR-34 delay,all you need to do is reset the receiver 4 consecutive times and the remote to receiver response returns to normal. I did this 4 days ago and have had no problems since. This will take about 30 minutes, but is well worth it.

You are welcome. Directv called me yesterday because of the low rating I gave them on a survey. When I told her that the problem with the HR-34 could be easily solved by performing 4 resets , she was so happy that she completely forgot why she called. I just asked her to be sure to let her agents know about this.

You will not lose any recordings. The red reset button is inside a door on the right front of receiver. Push and let it completely reboot and when your tv picture comes back then repeat 3 more times. Good luck!!

I used the remote more yesterday than I ever have and did not have any problems and everything is functioning fine again today. I saw this fix on this forum and was so frustrated that I would try anything. Don't know if it's permanent but it's working now.

I was having the same problem with the Genie HR-34. I reset my receiver 4 consecutive times and it seems to have corrected the problem. This takes about 30 minutes but was well worth it. Don't know if it is a permanent fix but so far so good!!

I have called dtv 5 times on this issue but get no help. Yesterday I tried something that I saw on this forum and it worked. I reset my receiver 4 times and now it functions just like the day it was installed. Be sure to let it completely re-boot and go back to a program before resetting again. Hope this helps.
