you're better off getting a long ethernet and connecting. i have the wireless box from Direct TV. they hooked it up free the same time they had to replace alot of their equipment from a lightning strike (i have the extra coverage). nice to have, but really slow. i either plan for the long download, or just run a long ethernet if i want the program alot quicker.

too bad. i have a 3D tv and we use it a couple times a month for 3D movies we bought since Direct TV dropped their channels. i personally loved watching sports in 3D.

after a power outage, after the 5-7 minutes to get my reception back, the only information displayed on the guide it the next few hours... i lose all other to the information not available message. and all my recordings on "to record list" are gone. this has happened a few times for far - every time we have a power outage. i signed up for the protection over a yr a go.. and though cost $, after a lightning strike a month ago, I was glad I did. they came the next day - replaced the dish, the connectors, the receiver (w/a newer model ) and i wouldn't have been able to get all that done myself that quickly.

tech support told the Direct TV serviceman who came that I have to open ports 1701, 8080, 8082, 8843 to get TV APPS working. all other internet connects work (on demand, youtube, the music). so why would only TV APPS not work? so what are the right ports of another person was told 710 for on demand? (netgear gateway).
