There are numerous satellites located in the same region as the 101. You are likely seeing the wrong satellite. You should see 26 or so of the transponders on the 101 with strengths at a minimum of 85.

I would call Directv and tell them I wanted to move location of one of my receivers and request a service call. I would never use any screw on fittings but a good compression type should be fine.

The RC72 will not turn on/off any 3rd party device, it is designed to do so with the TV and receiver only.

Are these sounds emanating from the actual remote or from the speaker system? If the latter those can be adjusted.

I assume you understand that you must first assign the volume control to the TV and then transfer control to the sound system. Not sure about your system, but many combination devices such as yours are problematical insofar as controlling the volume goes.

I can save you a call. The D12 is a SD receiver and all SD boxes put the responsibility for CC on the TV. Use your TV's remote to set your CC preferences. Those folks with HD receivers and DVR's use the Directv menu to set CC.

While on your home network, open the Genie Go App, click the gear in the upper right corner, scroll down to the bottom of the setup page and enable OOH (out of home) access.

This is a user to user technical help forum. If you simply wanted to rant, that's fine. However, if you want to tackle your problems you'll need to drop the hyperbole and post technical details such as what model DVR are you running and how is it connected to the router? As to the router firewall, it offers little benefit and may well be filtering your downloads.

Use only a coax jumper to connect the wireless CCK to the HR34. Do not use a Ethernet cable.

It would make a huge difference, but would not eliminate the black bars completely. A SD program on a HD TV (and HD receiver) can be easily stretched to fill the screen with the touch of the format button.

I would do a red button (inside card door) reset of the DVR.

The receiver is giving you false readings with the round dish. Re running satellite setup should eliminate the "ghost" readings on the 110 and 119. However, if you are able to get both 101 and 119 readings with the 18x20 dish from the same dish location then proper alignment procedures show allow the two satellites to be seen simultaneously. Of course, if you have to move...

The legacy remotes will work with the HR44 (and turn the AVR on/off) but only in IR mode. Of course the RC65 is a IR remote so the answer is yes.

Just to be clear, you must remove the Ethernet cable from the wireless adapter and the HR23. It cannot be used with a SWM system.

Go to your Genie and do a red button reset. While it's booting up, do a red button reset on all of your mini clients. This will give the system a fresh configuration.

As far as I know the wireless clients are still in limited release. Directv is featuring the wireless system in their national TV ads but if it were me, I would much prefer the hard wired model. If this is a deal breaker for you then refusing to accept the installation would have been the way to go. Once you sign off on the work order you pretty much own the system. You c...

If you FF a Mini at a 3x or 4x, the image cannot keep up and will freeze. However at 2x the image does pretty well (there is a short delay at the start of FF). The FF progress bar should display the moment you press the FF button.

I have a different approach. Open the receivers setup menu, locate the resolution menu (display -> resolutions) and take the check mark off all but the 1080i and 1080p resolutions. Then in the same menu (display-> preferences) set the guide to "hide SD resolutions). There is a good chance that you are actually tuning to SD channels. These changes will fix that.

The Genie and the attached Clients (Minis)( are part of an integrated system with the Genie acting as the server. Lose the server and you lose the network. Personally, I'd keep the HD DVR's and add the Genie to my prime location. A Client in your bedroom might be okay, but the DVR's in the rest of the house are much more versatile.
