I have a photograph of the box label for a "new in the box" HR44 being offered on eBay. The photo shows the Access Card No., the Receiver Serial No., and the Receiver ID. How can I verify that this is in fact eligible for activation on my account?

We now have two HR21 boxes linked by "grandfathered" Whole-Home over Ethernet. One of them has an AM21 connected for OTA viewing and recording and also has an eSATA-connected 2TB external drive. If we replace this latter* HR21 by a Genie: 1. Will the Genie and the other HR21 still "talk to each other" over the existing Ethernet connection? 2. Will the AM21 work with the G...

We have programs saved on an HR21 but are thinking of upgrading to Genie. Can we still watch or saved recordings after the HR21 has been deactivated? (It's my understanding that DirecTV will not want the HR21 back because it's now obsolete.)

If I have Genie and one or more Genie clients and am watching live TV -- or am simply viewing the program guide -- on one of the clients, can I initiate a recording of one of those programs using the remote linked to the client, or would I have to go to the Genie itself to initiate a recording?

There is currently an eBay listing for an HR34 Genie and mini-Genies. When I contacted the seller suggesting that this equipment was in fact the property of DirecTV and could not be sold and that any "purchaser" might not be able to activate the devices, the "seller" responded that s/he had filed for bankruptcy some time ago and had been billed for the equipment so now ow...

I've tried both MENU ➜ SETTINGS & HELP ➜ SETTINGS ➜ NETWORK SET UP ➜ RESTORE DEFAULTS ➜ CONNECT NOW and MENU ➜ SETTINGS & HELP ➜ SETTINGS ➜ NETWORK SET UP ➜ RESTORE DEFAULTS followed by a red-button reset in both cases, but nothing has changed. Now I notice that even if the Bedroom DVR is disconnected from the network MENU ➜ SETTINGS & HELP ➜ SETTINGS ➜ WHOLE-HOME ➜ STATU...

I've done that a few times already -- and unplugged and reconnected after an interval of many hours.

We have two HR21-100 DVRs with Whole-Home viewing via Ethernet. One DVR is named Family Room, the other Bedroom. Starting a few months ago, the Bedroom DVR displays every item that *it* has recorded twice in the Playlist, one without a location indicator, the other with the [BEDROOM] indicator (as though the BEDROOM box is a different box). The Family Room box still behav...

But that guide assumes that when the remote is in the TV position everything that applies to a TV will control the TV, BUT I want the remote's Power button to control the TV and the Volume and Mute buttons to control the HT unit -- a "schizophrenic" configuration, if you will. It must be possible, because that's how the original installer configured it.

I am trying to program a replacement remote (same as the original) for our HR21 to work with our Samsung LN46A650A1F LCD TV and Samsung HR-DB600 DVD Home Theater system. When the HR21 was installed, the installer programmed the original remote so that the Power button turned on and off both the DirecTV receiver and the TV, but the volume control and mute buttons controlle...
