HBO and other content providers are forcing DTV to make these decisions. To include the new features they needed to revise iOS requirements - this is supposed to prevent piracy :smileylaugh:. Thinking about canceling DTV for a few months and buying a new iPad with the $ saved.

it should work with iOS7 but since the App was redesigned with new features there's definitely going to be some bugs and issues.

They chose features over functionality and failed to notify customers that anyone running below iOS6 would lose this service. A simple solution would be to keep the legacy version available so customers can still watch live TV... OR maybe we should just spend $300+ on a newer iPad.

Correct, only iOS 6+ is supported after the new version came out a few days ago. If you're able to load the app and have a chance to login than compatibility is not the issue.

I went crazy with the same issue and eventually they came in and replaced my main DVR (Genie) and then everything worked fine. There were (2) specific issues: 1. iPad and iPhone could not connect to the receiver 2. DirecTV apps would not load. Both issues were resolved after I received my replacement DVR.

Just spoke to customer service and requested access to the older version. Confirmed - as of late November DirecTV customers not on iOS 6 or above will no longer be able to use the DirecTV app. Poor business decision to lock out all of your customers not on iOS 6 or above without any notices or alternatives. :smileyangry: Simple solution: allow access to the last version w...
