The 75 ohm impedance matches a dipole antenna in free space. RG (for radio guide ) was originally a unit indicator for bulk radio frequency (RF) cable in the U.S. military's Joint...

And BTW my training book says nothing about it. It is something I learned from working hands one with it, I try to be thorough. As of yet I see no solution other than that which I posted as of this time I see a bunch of so called answers and none of them yet tried

No you are the top poster because you are here and while I appreciate and respect advice given by people who do not directly work for DIRECTV, it is what it is advice, so when someone takes there time to get in here and share some knowledge do me a courtesy and do not reply to my posts I can tell you what warrants and does not warrant a service call. When one of us come h...

I understand ...

I know and that is what I stated in plain english that is why Directv uses compression fittings, which have nothing to do with which wire can be used. ALL cable line can use compression fittings

Right Peds I agree fittings are always an issue, that is why Directv uses compression fittings, which have nothing to do with which wire can be used. All cable line can use compression fittings, just that RG6, and I reiterate, is a more capable wire for installs. But the test is in the proof, if you don't feel like shelling out 49 and tax for a service call go pick up the...

To clear up some confusion, first Directv uses RG6 for all installations at this point, this is due to a bandwidth issue on the RG59, while I am not saying it won't work I am saying that RG59 is not completely adequate for HD bandwidth, that being said a standard install includes 125 feet of cable from the satellite to each receiver, this does not include wall fishing, or...
