I have spent the last week trying to get around the bug discussed in this thread. It all started with trying to record just the last of three local news shows with the same name in the morning. If I depend on the normal series recording, I would get Mon to Fri and all three shows: 4:30am-5:00, 5:00-6:00 and 6:00-7:00am plus the single one Sat and Sun. Annoyingly, I would ...

Does anyone have a solution to our problem simpler than a reset? Every night from 9 to 11 we record the International Mysteries on a local college PBS channel on our HR24NC-200. Since each daily show has a different title this is a manual setting. If we watch a show (usually one of the oldest ones - being daily it is a long list) on either that DRV or our Genie HR34-700, ...

It's not my Comcast modem or NetGear router that I am powering down. They work just fine supporting 2 laptops, a printer and 2 LG TVs. It's all coax through a splitter. I should mention I have the modem for VOD powered off unless I need to download. If left on (after a lot of troubleshooting) it was the source of invalid IP address problems for my two laptops, wi-fi printer and two TVs all hooked into the router.

Would you believe five of them. Each rep had a different approach to wiring and setting, but since they all did a reset, no problems found. Until the next day. After 20 years in the computer industry you learn to tell the difference between hardware and software problems. Thank you dcd for your reply. I don't have a clue other than guess I'm in some sort of software loop that cannot display the list. This is a recent (February) phenomenon. I have spoken to DirecTV and get apologies and use reset. So, that would be OK if it would keep recording and did not take so long - I have to smile every time I read a "few seconds more" on the BSOD.

We have a HR34/700 and a HR24NC-200 connected via coax for Whole Home. The principal reasons for daily resets are "Playlist without entries on both units," "Shows require multiple deletes" and "last HR24 show watched on HR34 gets dropped overnight." Thank you for your reply, my problem is that my Playlist disappears daily. You hit "List" on the remote and there are no entries listed just, for example, 57% free, in the lower right. If I do a reset and a show is recording, I will lose that show since it takes more than 45 minutes to re-record. I get "you are not authorized to record that channel" error if I press "R" f...

Hi, if you are like me doing daily resets to get your Genie working like DirecTV advertises, here is a workaround when you can't reset the Genie because it is recording shows. You can play individual shows via the History queue. Just select a show and play. You can review the history queue which is set up by time recorded. .
